MachineShop recently became a member of the Intel IoT Alliance and completed integration of MachineShop EDGE software to Atom-based Intel platforms. Supporting both Linux and Windriver distributions, MachineShop EDGE provides a rich and complementary set of compute services seamlessly integrated with Intel-based products and associated reference designs.
This integration provides several key benefits to Intel’s partners and OEM customers. Through our tight integration to the Intel platform, MachineShop Edge simplifies deployment and configuration of relevant Intel-based products. Either through a set of RESTful API calls or through our EdgeIQ management application, customers are offered a true, zero-touch, remote device configuration capability. Examples of these products would include gateways, routers, and single board integrated solutions developed by OEMs specifically for the IoT marketplace.
MachineShop also provides services to support remote monitoring and management of these devices including configuration changes, firmware updates and more. MachineShop provides a set of data ingestion, management, rules and event processing services that allow customers to leverage supported Intel products as true compute platforms, not merely communications nodes. This also extends to devices that may be communicating via proprietary networks through MachineShop and Intel supported products.
An extension of our Intel integration also provides customers with MachineShop EdgeIQ management solution. EdgeQ provides a complete set of administrative services that allow customers to create and manage groups of devices and/or users which is valuable in large scale enterprise deployments that are geographically dispersed or have tiers of users and administrators.
